Tough Old Teacher Attracts Five Star Reviews!
While the popular BBC3 TV program, Tough Young Teachers, tells the viewers about the exploits of the pupils in their classroom, a retired teacher of South Manchester schoolchildren continues to attract five star reviews for his book, So What! Stories or Whatever!
A local author, who writes under the pen name of G J Griffiths, has published two novels.
So What! Stories or Whatever! is the first book in the So What! series and has been read in countries as far south-east as India and Australia, and as far west as Canada, Brazil and the USA.
Having taught for over twenty years in schools within the “Bermuda Triangle”, from Parrs Wood to Wythenshawe and across to Hazel Grove, G J Griffiths decided that his novel would be based upon the very many interesting, often amusing and sad, stories that took place daily in his classroom. Paperback sales have been in the UK and France but the ebook has been downloaded in Germany and Italy as well as all of the countries mentioned above. It seems curious to imagine that the characters he based upon his pupils, from several South Manchester schools, are being read about in all of those far-away places. The next book in the series, So What’s Next!, will be published later in 2014.
The usual list price of the paperback is £8.99 so the forthcoming offer of the Kindle ebook from Amazon at 99pence shows a considerable saving. This will be part of a Countdown promotion for three days from Amazon starting on the 12 February 2014.
