A Robot's Journey To Find A Heart is a simple but charming tale about what it takes to become happy. The robot, who could have been more appealing to little ones if he had a name, visits different human situations on his/her search. The robot looks at school, a library, sports, music and a fairground for example, remarking that humans seem to be happy when they are involved in each of them. They enjoy helping others and being healthy and it finishes with a statement about what a human feels like when they are happy. Unfortunately, there is nothing about how the robot may get a heart of its own which would have made a very happy ending.
The illustrations are excellent and the sentiments are important for small children to discover, but I was left thinking that my children and grandchildren would have liked a more obvious conclusion for the cute little robot in the story.
